Let Me Introduce You To....

....James Neubauer.

I first met James in the Sunday School Class I teach at Grace Baptist Church of South Charlotte www.gbcsc.com . He's the same age as my children and a typical boy, with one difference. James has a brain tumor. As I got to know James I was able to see that he is a sweet, caring young man who has been through a lot in his short life.

I'll let you get caught up on his story by directing you to his website www.jamesneubauer.com where you can read his story and send him a message.

Each Sunday morning James would get to church early to help set up. He would help move chairs, set the Sunday School rooms up, and anything else someone needed him to do.

James would meet me at the door each week with the same, almost frantic, greeting. "Mr. Bower! Where have you been? I didn't think you were coming and I've already set the room up. What took you so long?" And I would respond the same each week..."James, it's 9:30. We don't get started until 10. But thanks for your help. I can always count on you!"

Let's fast forward to the present. James has had many complications lately with his illness. He's had to be airlifted to Duke University Hospital on multiple occasions for emergency surgeries to correct shunts in his brain. He is currently at Duke on medication and a ventilator. He's been there for a few weeks now. We're praying for God's grace. We know, and he has confessed himself, that he is saved and will see Jesus one day in Heaven! What a comfort that is to his family and friends. It's good to know where you will spend eternity!

While he's been at Duke these last few weeks, his Mom has been right by his side. His three brothers and sister have been back and forth. He has a brother in college, a brother in the military, a brother that stays home to keep the house running, and a sister that is there with Mom.

James is a special young man. And we miss him.

Please take a moment to meet and get to know James at www.jamesneubauer.com . You'll see a link on the side of his page that talks about his pets and a need for care. The Neubauer's are not just another family looking for a handout. As a matter of fact, they have turned down support out of pride and humbleness. Please consider helping them. I know they have insurmountable medical bills. Before the latest trips to Duke, they lived meager paycheck to meager paycheck.

James...We love you and miss you. We're praying for you daily and the guys are praying each week in Sunday School.
